Audister is a Google Chrome extension that reads web pages, articles, news, and textbooks aloud with human-like, natural AI voices that run entirely on your computer.
Unlike other text-to-speech extensions, Audister processes your articles locally on your CPU or GPU. We don't track your reading history, require accounts, or upload your text to remote servers.

- On-Device Synthesis: All article extraction and text-to-speech generation are performed locally in your browser. Your reading data never leaves your computer.
- Checkout Isolation: ExtensionPay handles our Pro billing. The ExtensionPay content script runs only on extensionpay.com checkout pages. License state queries do not share article text.
- Optional Cloud Integration (BYO Keys): Advanced users can optionally connect their own OpenAI, Google, or ElevenLabs keys. If activated, text is sent directly to your chosen provider, governed by their API terms.
